Tonight we joined folks on both sides of the Chamizal National Park to watch fireworks (the park has two parts - one side is in Mexico and the other in the US). We were the minorities among Spanish speakers and immigrant families tonight. The border community understands the authentic way to celebrate independence day. Today was by far my favorite Fourth to date.
